Our destinations are carefully selected to give memorable experiences through exciting encounters with animals and nature. Our tours are designed to give the best photographic opportunities at the destination, meaning that we work with the best local guides and always spending as much time as possible in nature. During our tours we give workshops to inspire and to expand the participants photo knowledge.
We not only sell and lead the photo tours – we create them ourselves, and we have visited all of our destinations. We have had first-hand experience with nature and animals at our destinations having visited them in our careers. This gives us an upper edge in creating tours best suited for our destinations. We have worked in collaboration with local guides and photographers at our destinations to come up with the best programs for our unique tours.
Since we are well-established nature photographers and have been photographing for decades, in both the Nordic countries and the rest of the world, we have great knowledge and experience of when and where the best photo opportunities are. We have also led workshops and courses for many years which has given us extended experience in teaching and inspiring our clients.
We believe in a responsible tourism management and our tours are designed in an eco-touristic way. During our tours we work to increase knowledge about nature conservation and we always involve local guides, tour operators and reserve or National Parks Services.
Who can join our tours?
Wild Nature Photo Adventures are for all nature lovers with a passion for animals, nature and photography, and of course photographers of all levels are welcome. Both the beginner and the more experienced photographer will gain new knowledge and inspiration to new images. Of course gender and age doesn’t matter, everybody is welcome.
Most of the times our tours are not physically demanding but under “Travel facts” for each tour you can see if there are any specific requirements. Do not hesitate to ask us if you feel unsure of what physical demands the tour will have.
How does our tours work?
Our tours are always carried out in small groups. This gives you the chance to a much more deeper participation, experience and also the chance to get as much assistance as possible from the guides. A small group of photographers will also cause much less risk of disturbance on animals and it gives everybody a better chance to better images.
Tours which include animals and nature are sometimes faced with unpredictable situations which causes changes in the program. We always do our best to please all guests requests.
No tour is similar to another. Some tours involve photographing from hides, other tours might involve photographing from a vehicle or by foot. All tours have in common that we always strive to photograph in the best light conditions, meaning that we have early mornings and late evenings in field.
On the tours that involve hides, photography sessions may lead to spending extended periods in the hide. Often entering the hide before sunrise and leaving long after sunset. Sometimes we might even spend the night in the hide as well.
Which camera equipment do I need?
Depending on the design and main target of the tour you need various equipment. Under “Travel facts” for each tour you will find the specific equipment we recommend. It´s important to remember that you can take fantastic nature and wildlife images with all kinds of equipment.
Food and accomodation
Our days will often be long and intense, something most nature photographers like. This means that both food and accomodation are important parts in recovery and gaining new strength. All our tours includes food and accomodation. If we have an early start there will always be a packed breakfast, the same if we are in the field during lunch time, lunch will be provided.
We eat lunch and dinner where we stay or at a local restaurant. The accomodation will be in hotels and guesthouses of “normal” standard. All rooms will have a toilet and shower, if not this will be stated in the “Travel facts”. We always aim for accomodation with WiFi.
All local transport is included in our tours, unless otherwise stated. Local transportation will be in cars, mini vans, busses, trains etc.
Transportation from your home to and from the start/finishing destination is not included in the tour price. For each tour there will be a stated ‘start and finish time’ and it´s every participants own responsibility to arrange transport which works with those times. We will recommend flights for every tour.
Of course all non-photographer partners are welcome on our tours.
We cannot control animals and nature. Wild Nature photo tour programs are designed to give our participants the best possible opportunities to get fantastic images of animals and nature, but we cannot guarantee the behavior of animals or control the weather. Our guides, both photo- and local guides, will also do their best to create the best possible opportunities every day. Patience often yields results but it´s important that expectations remain realistic.
We will always show great respect for animals and nature and we will never risk the welfare of an animal or make a negative impact on the nature just to get a image.
